The intent of this study is to identify biochemical and genetic markers that will prospectively define individual susceptibility to thrombosis in the clinical setting of adolescent and young adults initiating combined oral contraceptives. In addition, the successful applicant will also support a sponsored study investigation of the simultaneous detection and identification of several sexually transmitted infections.
