Overview
The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of a newly funded initiative aimed at integrating and advancing sarcoma-related clinical care and research across multiple Departments and Centers within the Abigail Wexner Research Institute and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This individual will become familiar with programs and personnel in the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and BMT, the Center for Childhood Cancer, the Department of Orthopedics, and others and will become the primary face of both new and established programs aimed at advancing the care of patients with sarcomas. This person will need to lean on strong interpersonal and organizational skills as they oversee projects that span grants, projects, clinical trials, Divisions/Centers, and offices. The genetic counselor is a licensed health care professional with a specialized graduate degree and experience in the areas of medical genetics and counseling. The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) clinical laboratory genetic counselor serves as a resource for health care providers and clinical laboratory directors in the setting of genomic testing and is responsible for activities related to pre-analytic sample and data curation, phenotype curation, genomic analysis and interpretation, result conveyance, and provider engagement. The clinical laboratory genetic counselor also has responsibilities in providing in-service education to providers regarding genetic testing performed in the laboratory, as well as teaching of students, faculty, and staff. The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is creating a future that uses the latest technological advances to help inform diagnosis, prognosis, and approach to therapies for children, adolescents and adults with cancer and other rare genetic diseases. This position is suited for a board-certified or eligible genetic counselor who is knowledgeable about laboratory methodology, genetic variants and disease, and familiar with online genetic databases. Experience (3-5 years) is preferred, however new graduates are welcome to apply. Experience and an emphasis in oncology testing and cancer predisposition is desirable.

Overview
We are seeking a research assistant to join Dr. Genevieve Kendall’s lab at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University.  Our team is focused on developing basic and translational models of pediatric muscle cancer, which are devastating and aggressive solid tumors with limited therapeutic options. We use transgenic zebrafish, mouse allograft models, and cell culture systems to understand the underlying biology of the disease and then apply that knowledge to identify therapeutic targets. With guidance from Dr. Kendall, you will be responsible for leading an independent project that addresses our shared interests and aligns with your career goals. Your other responsibilities will include maintaining transgenic zebrafish lines, performing experiments, and analyzing and presenting your results and conclusions. You will also be responsible for lab management and safety, ordering, and assisting Dr. Kendall with protocol preparation and submission. A background in molecular biology is preferred. The Skeens’ Lab is seeking individuals to join our growing lab, focused on adherence, symptom science and innovative solutions for children and families diagnosed with cancer or undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant. Clinical Research Coordinator I will be contributing to an NIH-funded clinical trial evaluating the feasibility of a digital health intervention to improve adherence and track facilitators and barriers to medication taking post hematopoietic stem cell transplant. The lab is also participating in several foundation funded trials to better understand the adherence and symptom experience of children with cancer and how allocation of treatment responsibility effects outcomes in adolescents with a cancer diagnosis and undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant. |   | We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent organizational skills, as well as previous experience with children. Overview
A full-time Research Coordinator is being recruited for a collaborative research team that is focused on examining family adjustment to children’s life-threatening conditions, such as cancer. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing work with children and adolescents with cancer. Duties will involve direct work with research participants (recruitment, in-person data collection) in the hospital, schools, and family homes, as well as study coordination. Specific tasks may include: helping with IRB protocols, helping to execute study visits, interviews, data management and analyses, and dissemination of research results. This position will involve close collaboration with the investigators as well as other research staff at NCH and medical staff at NCH/Ohio State University. Several opportunities exist for mentorship and professional development for applicants who may be interested in gaining experience that will prepare them to apply for advanced graduate programs in medicine or psychology. A two-year commitment is required. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate data collection efforts. The Clinical Research Coordinator’s primary responsibility is managing elements of a clinical study in order to meet all protocol obligations while following ICH/GCP guidelines; and departmental/institutional standard operating procedures. Overview
Lead Genomic Clinical Variant Scientist, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH.  Responsible for oversight of personnel and the provision of workflow direction within the Genomic Clinical Analysis Team (GCAT). Together, Variant Scientists and Variant Analysts accurately identify and classify genomic alterations detected through genomic testing and translational studies and draw from extensive expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular genetics to resolve challenging issues in variant interpretation and related laboratory processes. Serve as a key liaison between the Senior Laboratory Director, and GCAT to ensure accurate, timely, and quality patient care resulting. Applicants should have either a PhD or MD from backgrounds in Neuroscience, Tumor Immunology or Cancer Biology. Backgrounds in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology will also be considered. Experience with animal tumor modeling, cell sorting and flow cytometry is desired. Additional experience with Genomics/Bioinformatics/Statistics is a plus.
