We utilize these measures to design novel therapeutic strategies for infants and young children who suffer from neonatal neural insults.

Full-time; Exempt |   | We are seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to work in the Wagner Laboratory at the Steve and Cindy Rasmussen Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM). This opportunity will provide mentored training in the computational application of biomedical knowledge to inform genomic medicine at IGM. Postdocs will be guided in the design and development of novel tools, methods, and analyses to aggregate and classify the clinical significance of genomic variation in pediatric diseases, particularly cancers. This role will involve participation in professional consortia to develop these products in collaboration with the broader clinical genomics community, with the objective of advancing the field of genomic medicine. Success in this role will require drafting of technical materials such as abstracts, annual reports, scientific papers, and presentations. Postdocs will be expected to present their work at national and international conferences, publish scientific articles in appropriate refereed journals, and seek extramural research funding with the goal of becoming independent in his/her research effort. Appointment as a Postdoctoral Scientist is a maximum of 5 years in length.

Senior Research Associate |   | Our laboratory investigates the role of the renal urothelium in urinary tract obstruction. Specifically, we investigate the renal urothelium stem/progenitor and the molecular mechanisms governing urothelial development and repair. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate to perform bench research studies, analyze data and report experimental findings to the Principal Investigator. Applicants with experience managing a mouse colony, performing experiments on laboratory mice, and in flow cytometry and tissue culture are preferred. Preferred applicants will have an advanced degree, including a Master’s degree or PhD. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Senior Research Associate will design experiments, prepare samples and perform laboratory experiments investing the urothelial stem/progenitor cell in the kidneys and bladder. There will be a specific emphasis on using cell sorting techniques and organoid forming assays to evaluate the progenitor capacity of urothelial subpopulations. The Senior Research Associate will perform routine experimental procedures on laboratory animals, harvest tissue and use a variety of skills including techniques in molecular biology, physiology, genetics, microscopy, and biochemistry. Post Doctoral Scientist- Center for Injury Research & Policy |   | The Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) located in Abigail Wexner Research Institute of Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist to work on NIH and CDC funded research studies that focus on injury prevention and control in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on traumatic brain injury and teen driving safety. We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist with expertise in either traumatic brain injury or teen driving safety. The Post-Doctoral Research Scientist will work under the supervision of Dr. Ginger Yang, the principal investigator and will work closely with other research staff on the team. The person in this position will focus on enhancing their injury research skills including study design, instrument development and validation, and data collection and analysis methodology. The person will also participate in scientific writing of conference abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and grant applications while working towards a goal of becoming an independent researcher. Current projects include three active NIH funded R01s focusing on: 1. Longitudinally evaluating the driving performance of teen drivers following a mTBI. 2. Testing the effectiveness of parent-focused driving safety interventions on safe driving practices among teen drivers with a traffic violation. 3. Assessing the implementation and cost-effectiveness of translation of an evidence-based safe driving intervention tailored to the needs of rural and urban teen drivers with a traffic violation. CIRP is one of nine CDC-funded Injury Control Research Centers in the U.S. and is the only center to focus primarily on the prevention of injury among children and adolescents. Its faculty members are active in injury research and prevention on local and global levels. Columbus, the state capital, is a vibrant, growing community located in Central Ohio. Post Doctoral Scientist – Center for Childhood Cancer |   | The Theisen Lab is recruiting for postdoctoral positions in the Center for Childhood Cancer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Our group focuses on chromatin and epigenetic regulation, and interventions targeting that regulation, in pediatric cancer. Our training environment is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, with opportunities to pursue both basic and translational projects at the intersection of cancer biology, genomics, epigenetics, and proteomics. May be required to work after normal working hours, weekends and holidays, responds to Call-Outs when requested and work outdoors in inclement weather conditions (Day or Night).
