New RN Graduates are also offered a Nurse Residency program, for support through the transition from school to bedside nursing. |   | • The POST-ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT is a highly specialized critical care area of the hospital that cares for all age groups, including select adults, during their recovery from general anesthesia. | • Our patient population is expanse and includes both inpatient and ambulatory patients from the operating rooms, heart catheterization labs, several radiology modalities, and procedures rooms. | • Common services include Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology and Cardiology. | • The average daily census for the several PACU locations we serve is typically around 100. | • The average length of stay is 1 hour; however, it could vary from 15 minutes to several hours depending on the patient acuity. | • Our staff to patient ratio is typically 1:1 but may be 1:2 based on age and stage of recovery. |   | Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Overview
Behavioral Health Community Based Therapist I - Treatment for Healthy Alternatives |   | Nationwide Children’s Hospital Behavioral Health has positions open for highly motivated clinicians to provide intensive home and community-based clinical services to adolescents with co-occurring substance use and emotional disorders using the Integrated Co-Occurring Treatment (ICT) model. ICT expands upon the Intensive Home Based Treatment model to provide treatment to families and youth whose combined mental health and substance abuse issues have caused impairment at home, school, and/or in the community. The goal is to stabilize mental health, behavioral, and substance abuse concerns and safely maintain the youth in the least restrictive environment.  | The ICT Therapist will typically have two to five contacts with clients and families during the week and a family’s length of stay in the program is four to six months. Clinician duties include assessment, individual and family therapy, advocacy, and collaboration with community partners. Experience working with adolescents with alcohol and drug problems is not required, but clinicians must be open to learning about and working with a dual diagnosis population. The Biopathology Center (BPC) within The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) is a primarily grant-funded biorepository and clinical laboratory with the objective of acquisition and long-term storage of cancerous, normal and diseased human biospecimens and related data. These biospecimens are used for the purpose of supporting clinical trials, facilitating cutting edge research, and advancing clinical patient care. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented laboratory. This role does not perform hypothesis-based research on the biospecimens – we serve a supporting role to facilitate clinical testing and research.

The Zepeda-Orozco Lab’s focus is on Onconephrology and use of biomarkers to identify specific kidney injury phenotypes for targeted therapeutic approaches. Her laboratory uses pre-clinical models and human samples to develop mitochondrially targeted therapeutic approaches leveraging tumor and normal cell’s metabolism differences to protect from chemotherapy and radiation induced nephrotoxicity without protecting tumor cells. The Research Assistant performs research experiments and clinical studies in accordance with provisions of the approved protocol; maintains records of experiments and prepares laboratory reports; assists in analyzing data and preparing publications.
