BPC Business Operations Coordinator

Overview: The Biopathology Center (BPC) within the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) is a primarily grant-funded biorepository with the objective of acquisition and long-term storage of a large number of cancerous, normal, and diseased biospecimens and related data. The BPC currently serves as biorepositories for several cancer cooperative groups funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), as well as several other sponsors. The BPC is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Biorepository Accreditation Program (BAP). The BPC is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that requires the ability to work well under pressure and maintain constant attention to detail. This position requires frequent communication and collaboration via email and phone with all BPC service lines. The BPC does not perform hypothesis-based research on the biospecimens – we serve a supporting role to facilitate clinical testing and research. The Business Operations Coordinator will be responsible for providing support primarily to the Business Manager and BPC Business and Project Development Director. The Business Operations Coordinator will assist with administrative functions including invoicing and other grant financial management activities. The position will coordinate data from various sources and generate reports for the department and/or sponsor groups. Proficiency in working with Microsoft Excel and data compilation are essential to this position. A science or health care background is preferred; this position requires an understanding of biospecimens and laboratory operations.
