Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Director - The Steve and Cindy Rasmussen Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) is a nationally recognized provider of expertise in multiple aspects of genomics data generation and analysis. It creates a unique environment where state-of-the-art testing by its clinical laboratory, advanced computational data analytics and translational research efforts come together to transform patient care and make genomic testing results accessible and meaningful for patients and families. The IGM Clinical Laboratory performs integrated clinical genomic, molecular, microarray, FISH and cytogenetic analyses to diagnose a broad range of inherited diseases and cancer in both a hospital-based system and reference lab capacity. The laboratory plays an integral role in the Molecular Characterization Initiative, part of the National Cancer Institute’s Childhood Cancer Data Initiative, to provide advanced genomic testing to a pediatric and adolescent population with cancer. The IGM clinical laboratory supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. The mission of this fellowship is to develop post-doctoral clinicians and scholars in serving pediatric and adult populations through the provision of expert clinical laboratory care. This mission directly aligns with the hospital and institutional strategic plan to integrate and grow genomic medicine across the enterprise. We emphasize collaborative interactions between clinicians, physician-scientists and basic science investigators to quickly transition cutting-edge research results into advanced diagnostics using state-of-the-art technology platforms. With world-renowned experts at the helm, we are moving genome-based testing into the mainstream of pediatric diagnosis and treatment for constitutional disorders and cancer diagnoses, making results accessible and meaningful for clinicians in support of patients and families.
