Schedule: Evening Shift (4p-12p), Every 4th Weekend Requirement Shift (7p-7a), Holiday Rotation Requirement
FTE: 0.5 (20/hrs per week), Part-Time, Benefits Eligible
Minimum Pay Rate: $34/hr
The Physician Consult/Transfer Nurse is responsible for assigning patients to the appropriate unit while following the guidelines of the admitting matrix. Responsible for coordinating admissions, discharges and transfers of patients to Nationwide Children's Hospital, assist with emergency department referrals and enables access to pediatric specialist consultation. Acts as a liaison between patient care services staff, medical staff, supervisors, and the Admitting Department and external providers to facilitate the patient admission/transfer process.
Demonstrates competencies defined (*) in the Physician Consult/Transfer Nurse responsibilities providing age appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years and select adults.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Education:
Graduate of approved school of nursing.
Licensure:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
Pediatric clinical experience required.
Effective communication skills for relating to all levels of personnel and contacts.
3-5 years of clinical experience required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with personal computer and/or main frame systems required. Skill in using databases and Microsoft Office highly preferred.
Must be able to type on a computer keyboard and manage use of telephone equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
