Behavioral Health Clinicians act as clinical consultants to provide behavioral health expertise that supports child welfare service teams and administration in case planning, evaluating and understanding behavioral health needs, using community services to avoid or enhance success of children (birth to young adult) in placement and improve child well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on behavioral health and trauma evidence-based treatment and practices and participate in family team meetings to assist in best possible, least intrusive and least restrictive placement and treatment decisions
• Assists service teams with evidence-based behavioral health treatment practices, interpreting behavioral or psychological assessment recommendations, as well as other clinical consultation services, as needed
• Provides education and resources on community systems of care and availability in the community and assist with referrals.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s or doctoral degree

Licensure: Appropriate Ohio independent licensure (i.e., LISW, LPCC, or LIMFT). Active Ohio driver’s license with proof of auto insurance required.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:
• Extensive experience (3+ years) in behavioral health; in identifying, assessing and understanding the integration of behavioral health, trauma symptoms, and child development; in working with the child welfare population.
• Training/experience in evidence-based models across multiple ages (ECMH, school-age, adolescent/young adult).
• Knowledge of the Franklin County behavioral health services landscape and congregate care sites preferred; multi-system experience preferred.
• Experience serving at-risk populations and demographically diverse communities preferred.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally: bend/twist; climb stairs/ladder. Lift up to 20lbs. Push/pull up to 25lbs.
Frequently: Stand, walk, drive motor vehicles, (work required, additional testing may be required).
Continuously: Sitting; flexing/extending of neck; hand use' arm use; computer skills. Audible speech & hearing acuity. Peripheral vision; seeing far/near. Mental demands: problem solving, decision making, interpreting data. Requires focus and pay attention to detail while multi-tasking. Must be able to perform effectively in stressful situations.
