The BH Outpatient Therapist – Autism Behavioral Intervention Program is responsible for the clinical assessment and clinical care of patients of CASD BIP and their families. This individual is primarily responsible for the initial diagnostic and treatment planning sessions for BIP patients, in addition to providing other clinical services, such as parent support/training, psychological testing, school consultation, care coordination, and/or other consultation services. This individual will assist families in determining next steps of care for their child, connect with referring partners to create smooth linkages to CASD, and support and inform on-going CASD clinicians of the patient’s critical clinical needs, barriers and preferences.

• * Provides diagnostic assessments for Behavioral Intervention Program of CASD, assessing patient’s diagnostic profile, clinical needs, biopsychosocial barriers, and family’s service priorities. Provides treatment recommendations, a service plan, and linkage to other supports.
• * Accurately assesses and documents client’s presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, suicidality and risk factors, diagnosis and prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner.
• Partners with Autism Resource Clinicians to help family access resources and address any barriers to care.
• * Provides direct clinical care to clients and caregivers (including Toddler, EIBI, BI, School Consultation, and/or Transition services) in accordance with knowledge, training and supervision. These services include treatment planning, direct clinical care, parent training, and psychoeducational/supportive services to patients and their families who are receiving services through the CASD BIP.
• Provides interventions in school settings, natural environment or other community settings, as appropriate.
• Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.
• Remains current in required licensure and clinical or other training as required.
• Practices within professional areas of expertise.
• * Completes clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards.
• Maintains productivity expectations.
• Effectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
• Meets regularly with Psychology Supervisor or designee.
• Attends routine staff meetings.
• Attends in-service trainings, peer review and other intra-agency and supervisory activities.
• Demonstrates willingness to seek/accept direct supervision as well as respect productive feedback from colleagues and others.
• Strives to maintain positive patient satisfaction.
• Supports the philosophy, goals and mission of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Psychology Supervisor or Director.
