Overview

The Senior Education Coordinator plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates national and/or international educational activities and programs of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with content experts. Serves as the liaison to two or more NCH service lines or programs. Responsible for program or systems-wide design, fiscal management, accreditation/compliance oversight, marketing/publicity, contract negotiation and administrative support for assigned activities. Leads project planning and works autonomously within a defined scope of authority.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates efficient and cost-effective operations, including orientation of new program leaders, accreditation/regulatory compliance, budget development and tracking, annual reports, and oversight of deficiencies and concerns. Provides support and training for program and education coordinators.
• Manages files/databases to assure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and audit standards. Ensures information and reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Recommends, monitors, and updates program-specific policies and procedures for regulatory and organizational compliance.
• Consults with leaders to develop, implement, and track outcomes, quality improvement, and annual reports of assigned educational activities and or projects. Utilizes technology to enhance educational or hospital activities and programs, as well as to document accreditation compliance, registration, evaluation, marketing, and participant data.
• Increases visibility of educational activities and or programs. Maintains up-to-date information online. Monitors online presence to assure functionality and accuracy.
• Supervises and offer feedback for performance evaluations of program and education coordinators, as assigned.
• Engages in ongoing professional development. Serves on regional/national committees as available. Publishes and submits presentations on work, as needed.
• Submits grants and solicits external support for educational activities and or programs.
• Serves as an educational consultant to program directors, coordinators and other NCH staff to develop and implement innovative projects. Tracks measurable outcomes of these projects.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as well as travel, as schedule dictates.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in education, health administration, business. communications, marketing or related field (or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.

LICENSURE: Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

SKILLS: Proficiency in MS Office. Demonstrated supervisory skills to plan, direct and evaluate work of support staff. Interdisciplinary program planning required. Demonstrated project and database management skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Strong command of the English language, grammar and spelling.

EXPERIENCE: 3 -5 years' experience in program and conference planning. Program oversight experience is highly preferred. Experience in policy development, fiscal management and project management. Experience with tracking data and reporting outcomes is highly desired. Driving personal vehicle is required.


MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Drives throughout central Ohio Frequently: Lifts, reaches, carries, pulls and pushes educational materials up to 25 pounds. Sits at computer for desk work Constantly: Talks with and listens to customers concerning community conferences. Types on computer keyboard for searches, document preparation and database management.
