Overview

Supports hospital quality improvement projects and service grants aimed at reducing suicidal behavior among youth. Promotes suicide prevention and awareness efforts and assists with the development and implementation of prevention strategies and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the development and implementation of suicide prevention materials and programming.
  • Engages and collaborates with NCH and community stakeholders to promote suicide prevention and awareness efforts throughout Ohio.
  • Provides training and education to staff and community members on suicide prevention and intervention. Engages with families in the community to understand prevention programming and increase awareness of suicide prevention best practices.
  • Tracks progress towards program implementation, participant engagement, and relevant program outcomes. Works with project leadership to generate quarterly reports.
  • Interacts and identifies youth eligible for suicide prevention programs and assists with enrollment, providing culturally appropriate interactions and interventions.

Qualifications

Education and Skill Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field, required.
  • Master's Degree, preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, peers and community representatives.
  • Effective presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to provide care coordination to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Ability to work with the hospital's electronic medical records system.
  • Ability to work and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to change in workflow and process.
  • Spreadsheet, data entry and tracking, and computerized scheduling skills.
  • Suicide prevention experience and familiarity with youth suicide prevention best practices, preferred.
