Overview

Night Shift: (7:00pm-7:30am).

36 hours per week available (0.9 FTE).

 

Every other weekend required and Holiday rotation.

Benefits Eligible.

Position starts at $34.00 an hour plus shift and weekend differentials. Pay to commensurate with experience.

$2.00/hr pay increase upon successful completion of department orientation.

  • 29 beds
  • H2B PICU provides multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients ranging from infants to young adults.
  • We care for high acuity patients with a vast variety of conditions, including trauma, burn, transplant, respiratory, surgical, neurological, endocrinological, renal, oncological, neurosurgical, sepsis, and other various medical conditions.
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, depending on the acuity and needs of the patient.
  • We function as a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working together to provide best possible care and outcomes to our patients and families. We implement bedside rounds twice daily, inclusive of the multidisciplinary team and families.

Responsibilities

1. Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.

2. Assesses individualized patient needs.

3. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.

4. Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.

5. Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.

6. Engages in the 'workplace community' by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.

7. Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: BSN preferred.

Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

Certifications: Current CPR certification required.

Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Must be able to independently lift up to 35 lbs.

Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
