Housekeeper II - BHP DSC


Hours: Part-time; Benefits Eligible (0.6 FTE) - First Shift, 24 hours a week, Every Other Weekend Required 


The Housekeeper II is responsible for but not limited to the following; moving furniture and beds from one area of the hospital to another; buffs floors; strips and refinishes floors; cleans carpets; maintains all assigned equipment; washing of walls and windows; vents and lights; waster removal; thoroughly clean elevators; clean stairs, and other related duties as assigned.

  • Performs routine cleaning and building service work.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Seven Basic Cleaning Steps.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate chemical use to meet department standards (know chemical, it?s proper use, has appropriately labeled and stored, etc.)
  • Practices proper methods of Infection Control in conjunction with cleaning procedures (changing of mop water, proper use of cleaning cloth and other equipment, etc.)
  • Has knowledge of applicable departmental policies and procedures and uses when appropriate.
  • Maintains closet, housekeeping cart and cleaning equipment in clean, orderly and good working condition.



  • Experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to read and write.


  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. independently (Frequently)
  • Standing (Constantly)
