The Clinical Manufacturing Facility at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a Leading GMP production facility dedicated to advancing the field of Gene and Cellular Therapy. The Materials Management Specialist is responsible for receipt, storage and delivery of materials within the GMP production facility and Research Organization. This position will play a key role in ensuring materials are received, logged into the system, stored in the correct locations/conditions, transported appropriately and documented in the correct systems. This position requires attention to detail, ability to following standard operating procedures and an understanding of requirements pertaining to sample handling. Experience in materials management, flow of goods and services, controlled storage, and good documentation practices is strongly preferred. Established as an affiliate company of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and its Research Institute, Andelyn Biosciences is a product of Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s success in clinical manufacturing and gene therapy. Nationwide Children’s Hospital is investing in Andelyn Biosciences to support Phase III studies for clinical manufacturing with these capabilities scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2020. Andelyn Biosciences is targeting 2023 for the completion of a state of the art, GMP, manufacturing facility capable of early stage development through commercial scale manufacturing.

  • Ensure materials are received into the system, appropriately labelled and stored in the correct storage location.
  • Support GMP resources by ensuring the correct materials and quantities are retrieved and delivered to the requested location.
  • Clearly communicates any issues identified with materials during receipt / transportation and assists with material related investigations.
  • Ensures any damaged or rejected material is clearly identified, labelled accordingly, stored in a secure location and that all system controls are utilized to prevent the material from being accessible for use.
  • Monitor the status of storage units to ensure materials are stored under the correct conditions. Inform facilities management, transport materials and properly document activities associated with any storage excursions.
  • Perform and document periodic cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Utilize the ERP system to record information specific to the material, track status of inventory and record inventory movements.
  • Support product custodian in the receipt, allocation and shipping of finished goods according to requirements identified in the batch record and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills,and Education Required: 

  • Work experience within a regulated environment in preferred
  • Understanding of sample handling requirements for critical components is preferred
  • Ability to accurately enter information into ERP system (SAP experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with biological and chemical products, use, disposal and Safety Data Sheets
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs Occasionally (0-32%)
  • Walking Frequently (33-66%)
  • Talking in-person/on the phone
