In essence, our purpose is to identify genomic variants that contribute to these conditions. As a bioinformatics analyst in this group, you will:

  • Execute standardized genomic data analysis pipelines, filter and review genomic variants uncovered, and assess/interpret their contribution to patient condition(s).
  • Collect and evaluate sequencing metrics such as alignment rates, coverage, and genotype concordance for sequenced samples.
  • Using NGS analysis tools such as IGV, Samtools, Picard, VarScan, GATK, and PLINK to review, manipulate, and interpret NGS data.
  • Build and maintain awareness of the latest approaches for genomic analysis, variant interpretation, and gene discovery.
  • Evaluate genomic analysis tools and/or develop new ones to meet the analysis needs of IGM studies.
  • Interface with investigators, clinicians, genetic counselors, and laboratory directors to obtain information necessary for analyses and to communicate the results.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal/external presentations, scientific manuscripts, and grant applications related to our work.
