We are seeking a Biostatistician - This is an exciting opportunity to work with Research and Behavioral Health professionals around suicide and suicide prevention, as well as other prevention initiatives, as part of Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Center for Suicide Prevention and Research (CSPR). Only in existence for three years, the Center builds upon the already significant suicide research efforts of an experienced team of researchers and has delivered evidence-based suicide prevention programming to over 30,000 middle and high school students.


The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering accurate and insightful data analytics in support of the CSPR and other Behavioral Health prevention efforts at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Both the Research Institute and Behavioral Health have experienced significant growth over the past several years and will continue to do so in anticipation of the new Behavioral Health Pavilion opening on NCH’s main campus in 2020 where the CSPR will be housed.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Run various statistical and statistical genetic software packages, including in-house programs, to analyze data.
  • Execute simulation-based studies to evaluate performance of alternative and novel data analytic methods.
  • Prepare summary statistics on data preparatory to data analyses.
  • Prepare results of analyses for presentation and publication.
  • Research available software options for specific projects.
  • Download and install software as needed.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.


What Are We Looking For?

  • Master of Science degree in Biostatistics or Statistics or Bachelor degree in Biostatistics or Statistics.
  • 1 – 2 year’s work experience as a biostatistician in a healthcare-related setting for Master's, minimum 5 years for Bachelor's.
  • Excellent knowledge of General Linear Mixed Models (GLMM), factor analysis, structural equation modeling and cluster analysis. Ability to work with minimal instructions or independently.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and self-management skills.
