    Clinical Veterinarian - Animal Resource Core 

    Full time Exempt: Main Campus


    We are seeking a Clinical Veterinarian- Supports the mission of NCH while providing clinical oversight/support for research animal care and use, medicine, disease diagnosis and experimental techniques for researchers at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute. Ensures research and clinical activities adhere to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Public Health Service (PHS) Policy, and AAALAC International rules and regulations.

    What Will You Be Doing?

    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience working in small and large animal clinical medicine.
    • Provide guidance to research personnel on animal model and protocol development.
    • Contribute to the management and professional development of the Animal Resources Core (ARC) staff.
    • Assist with the development, review, revision, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
    • May participate in Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, which may include reviewing protocols.
    • Participate in the veterinary on-call rotation Performs miscellaneous related duties as required.


    What Are We Looking For?

    To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess these minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Veterinary degree (DVM/VMD) from an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine or ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) certification with post-graduate work experience at an ACLAM-recognized laboratory animal medicine training program or equivalent.
    • Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
    • American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) board certification or eligibility is highly desirable.

    Minimum Physical Requirements:

    • 60% Clinical support
    • 20% Personnel management
    • 10% PI support 5% Continuing education
    • 5% SOP creation and review
    • 100% Kneeling / reaching
    • 100% Finger dexterity 100%
    • Talking / hearing / seeing 33% Lifting / carrying weight 0-20 pounds for 1-5 minutes
