The Family Based Intensive Treatment (FBIT) Program is an intensive home- and community-based treatment service working with youth and family to address behavioral health difficulties in the home, school and community. Typically, the youth displays impairment in at least two of these arenas. FBIT targets a population of youth with significant psychiatric needs in order to increase functioning and sustainability within the family system. The FBIT Therapist will utilize the Intensive Home Based Treatment model. The goal of the program is to stabilize mental health concerns, and safely maintain the youth in the least restrictive, most normative environment. The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide both therapy and case management services in the community, while working closely with community stakeholders. Treatment is intensive (3-5 sessions/week) and time limited (average of 4 to 6 months). The program provides services to clients between the ages of 4-18 exhibiting a wide range of psychopathology. 24/7 crisis support is provided. This position offers weekly individual supervision, as well as weekly consultation provided by Center for Innovative Practices.

1. Remains current in required licensure and clinical or other training as required. Satisfactory progress toward independent licensure is expected.
2. Accurately assesses and documents client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, diagnosis and prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner.
3. Meets with client/family to assist in developing specific, realistic, ad measurable treatment goals and objectives.
4. Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.
5. Remains current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare and collaborates consistently with team psychiatrist.
6. Participate in a rotating on-call procedure that provides families with 24-hour, 7-days a week accessibility and availability in crisis and acute situations.
7. Completes clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards.
8. Practices within professional areas of expertise and under the supervision of an independently licensed practitioner.
9. Maintains productivity expectations.
10. Effectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
11. Meets regularly with Clinical Lead Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator or designee.
12. Attends routine staff meetings.
13. Attends in-service trainings, peer review and other intra-agency and supervisory activities.
14. Demonstrates willingness to seek/accept direct supervision as well as respect productive feedback from colleagues and others.
15. Strives to maintain positive patient satisfaction.
16. Supports the philosophy, goals and mission of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
17. Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Coordinator or Administrator
KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy;
2. Appropriate Ohio licensure;
3. Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing and managing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescent and families;
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers and community representatives.
5. To maintain reliable transportation, and both an acceptable driving record and automobile insurance, with acceptable coverage for business driving/transporting of consumers, in accordance with NCH policies;
6. Staff members hired into the Community Support Service Worker II position prior to May 2011 can be grandfathered into this position.
