    Contingent position. Work minimum 1 shift at main campus & 1 shift at Close to Home. Rotating shifts/weekends/holidays.


    Responsible for scheduling, performing and quality of Plain Film, OR, and Fluoroscopy procedures in the Radiology Department. Teams with the Radiologist during the performance of Fluoroscopy procedures. Utilizes varied Radiographic and related equipment. This position provides Radiographic services supporting the Radiology Mission of high quality, efficient care with emphasis on serving the unique needs of each customer. This position will emphasize customer service as a first priority, with each employee adopting the departments The Way We Care philosophy. Demonstrates competencies defined (*) in the Radiographer responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and selected adult patients.

    1. Supports the philosophy and objectives of Childrens Hospital and the Radiology Department. Interprets these to patients, parents, and hospital staff.2. * Schedules, prepares patients, and performs Plain Film, OR, Outpatient Surgery Center and Fluoroscopy procedures in accordance with established protocols. 3. *Operates varied imaging equipment in the General Radiographic, OR, Fluoroscopy, Portable, and Outpatient Care Center. Utilizes electronic information devices. Programs equipment for accurate imaging, determines correct anatomic area for imaging, and adjusts equipment factors for patient age, weight, size, and special needs.4. Prepares all related documentation for procedures as prescribed by section protocols and prepares hard copy images for dictation. Reviews hard copy imaging for accuracy. Initiates networking of equipment for the generation of hard copy images.5. *Consults with Radiologist to determine additional or special filming protocols, preparation, and/or filming techniques.6. Administers oral contrast under the direction of the Radiologist.7. Represents the department?s customer service focus for both internal and external contacts. This shall include appropriate speech, mannerisms, and personal presentation as outlined in the Radiology Department Code of Conduct.8. Maintains stocking of accessory supplies, patient care items, and cleanliness of the General Radiographic areas. 9. Assists the Team Leader-General Radiography in collecting and monitoring CQI projects within the section.10. Mentors and monitors new employees and rotating students as directed by the section Team Leader.11. Complies with radiation and general safety policies.12. Complies with CHI, Radiology, JCAHO, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines and polices.13. May perform the duties of receptionist, film librarian as directed by the section Team Leader.14. Maintains knowledge of current applications in the field of Radiologic Technology through seminars, educational programs, and self study.15. Performs other related responsibilities required to maintain section and department functions.



    Must be a graduate of an accredited educational program for Radiologic Technology.Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required. (Active status) Registry eligible status employees must pass ARRT exam and posses an ?R? category Ohio license within 6 months of employment.Possession of a valid Ohio Radiological License (G or R) and operate within the scope of practice as stated in the OAC.1 year clinical experience in the Radiological Sciences; preferably in a pediatric setting is preferred. High level of communication and organizational skills to meet the demands of a modern pediatric Radiology department?s patient care and customer service mission.



    This position requires constant talking, hearing, standing, stooping, lifting, hand dexterity, bending, walking, and seeing to effectively perform varied General Radiography procedures. (100%)Essential Job Functions: Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Must be able to independently lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
