The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is looking for a motivated and collaborative individual who is eager to get engaged in solving intriguing research, clinical or operational problems that may directly or indirectly impact clinical care or operation at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Your work has the potential to have long lasting positive impact to our pediatric patients and help NCH to achieve best outcome in our care delivery. The R&D division of Research Information Solutions and Innovation has a diverse portfolio of clinical informatics research projects ranging from clinical genomics, business data mining, Hadoop and big data analytics, predictive analytics, virtual reality, to social mobile and cloud (SoMoClo) applications. These projects are highly collaborative involving partners in Clinical Informatics, Hospital IS, physicians, researchers, and administrators, both internally and externally.
The IT Project Scientist I position will design and lead scientific aspects of a project, such as study design, proposal drafting, outcome evaluation, and manuscript writing etc. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and capable of working with technical staff to drive the projects forward. The candidate must be able to verbally and visually communicate clearly to all level of stakeholders.
1. Participate in requirement gathering, conduct literature review, draft proposal, and evaluate scientific merit.
2. Document project plan especially scientific direction and outputs with time estimates.
3. Work both independently and in small teams to develop scientific/analytic approaches.
4. Work with both clinical and research data while keeping PHI exposure to a need-only basis.
5. Work closely with technical staff and project managers to integrate technical and scientific approaches seamlessly.
6. Present the results internally and externally in forms of presentations, posters, or manuscripts
7. Share knowledge and be a good team player.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
