This short-term position may get your feet in the door, leveraging your solid knowledge and experience in scientific research framework and combining them with hands on experience! We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, desire to explore or transition into a career in Clinical Informatics, Data Science, or other related fields, or simply want to enhance your current CV with clinical informatics prowess. This 3-6 month training experience will give the postdoctoral scientist opportunities to be exposed and get involved in clinical informatics projects, to have better understanding of the field, to fill some knowledge and skill gaps, and to identify synergistic research opportunities utilizing existing training background and NCH’s Clinical Informatics capabilities. RISI R&D division has a diverse portfolio of clinical informatics research projects ranging from population health, clinical genomics, dental informatics, business data mining, Hadoop and big data analytics, to social mobile and cloud (SoMoClo) applications. The post is offered in a highly collaborative environment with clinicians, researchers, clinical IT, research IT, QIS, and business administration. The initial term is 3-6 months with opportunity to extend it to longer term.
•Conduct literature reviews for clinical and research projects
•Actively look for synergistic research opportunities that leverage both existing training and clinical informatics
•Develop innovative ideas into publishable or fundable activities
•Participate in manuscript and grant proposal drafting and revisions
•Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, IT staff, and administration to complete projects
1.PhD degree in scientific areas.
2.Strong verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders in all levels of the organization.
3.Proficiency in writing with successful track record of publishing peer reviewed research articles
4.Strong problem solving, critical thinking abilities, and desire to learn
5.Highly collaborative and engaging
